Terms of Service

Effective date: 31 March 2026

These Terms govern your use of AccessBridge. They include important disclaimers about the limits of automated accessibility scanning — please read Sections 3 and 4 carefully before using the Service.

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (either an individual or the entity you represent, collectively "Customer", "you", or "your") and AccessBridge ("we", "our", or "us") governing your access to and use of the website at accessbridge.app and all associated scanning, reporting, and AI tools (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, clicking "I agree," making a purchase, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not have that authority, or if you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

Description of Service

AccessBridge provides an AI-powered web accessibility scanning platform. The Service enables subscribers to:

  • Submit website URLs for automated accessibility scanning using axe-core and third-party engines
  • Receive machine-generated reports identifying potential technical accessibility issues
  • View AI-generated explanations and suggested code fixes for identified issues
  • Generate Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) documents
  • Integrate scan results with third-party tools (GitHub, Jira, Slack, MS Teams)
  • Schedule recurring automated scans
  • Access historical scan data and trend reports
  • Deploy an optional site-specific JavaScript runtime patch that applies targeted DOM-level remediations for scan-verified violations on your website

The free scan is available to anyone with no account required. Paid products (such as the Claude Skill File fix guide) are one-time purchases. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

No Guarantee of Legal Compliance

Use of the Service does not guarantee, warrant, certify, or create any presumption that your website or digital content complies with any accessibility law, regulation, or standard.

In particular, and without limitation:

  • ADA Title III — A passing score or zero violations in our scan does not mean your website is exempt from ADA claims or that a court would find it accessible.
  • WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 — Our automated tools check for a subset of WCAG success criteria that are amenable to automated testing. Many criteria — including adequacy of text alternatives, logical reading order, cognitive accessibility, and correct use of ARIA — require human expert judgment and cannot be fully assessed by automated tools.
  • Section 508 — Reports generated under the Section 508 scan mode are informational. They do not constitute an official conformance determination for federal procurement purposes.
  • VPAT® Documents — VPAT® documents generated by the Service are based on automated scan results and are provided for informational and planning purposes only. They are not a certified or legally verified conformance statement. A legally defensible VPAT® requires manual testing and validation by a qualified human accessibility expert. VPAT® is a registered trademark of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).
  • European Accessibility Act / EN 301 549 — Our EN 301 549 scan mode tests against the WCAG 2.1 AA criteria referenced in that standard. Full conformance assessment under the EAA requires manual review and may require third-party audit.

Achieving and maintaining legal accessibility compliance requires a combination of automated testing, expert manual review, assistive technology testing, and ongoing monitoring. AccessBridge strongly recommends engaging a qualified accessibility consultant or attorney in addition to using the Service.

Account Registration and Security

To access the Service you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

One account may be used by multiple team members within the same organisation. You may not share account credentials with individuals outside your organisation or resell access to the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised, are being used in violation of these Terms, or are engaged in fraudulent activity.

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Submit URLs for websites you do not own or are not authorised to scan
  • Use the Service to scan for security vulnerabilities, harvest data, or for any purpose other than accessibility testing
  • Represent AccessBridge scan results or VPAT® documents as legally certified or as the output of a licensed attorney or accessibility auditor without appropriate qualification
  • Use AI-generated fix suggestions verbatim in legal filings, regulatory submissions, or binding contracts without independent professional review
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated scripts to circumvent rate limits or access the Service beyond its intended use
  • Transmit malicious code, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise interfere with the Service or other users
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make the Service commercially available to third parties without our written consent
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms

Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

Third-Party Public Website Scanning

The Service scans publicly accessible web pages on behalf of its subscribers for the sole purpose of automated accessibility testing. This section explains the legal basis and scope of that activity.

Permissibility Under Applicable Law

Automated scanning of publicly accessible HTML over HTTPS is lawful under United States federal law. Publicly accessible web content — content served without authentication or a paywall to any HTTP client — is not protected under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030) when retrieved via standard browser-equivalent requests. This position is consistent with established US federal court decisions addressing automated access to public web content.

AccessBridge does not bypass login screens, circumvent access controls, scrape personal data, or index proprietary or paywalled content. Scans are limited to the publicly accessible HTML, CSS, and page structure of the submitted URL for the purpose of evaluating technical accessibility compliance under WCAG and related standards.

Robots.txt and Crawl Etiquette

AccessBridge respects industry-standard crawl etiquette. Single-page scans (including free demo scans) are performed as a single HTTP request and do not constitute crawling. Multi-page site audits respect the site's robots.txt directives where technically practicable.

Subscriber Responsibility

Subscribers who use the batch scanning features to scan third-party websites (for example, during a sales prospecting workflow) represent and warrant that:

  • The URLs submitted are publicly accessible without authentication
  • The scan is performed solely for accessibility evaluation purposes
  • The subscriber will not represent AccessBridge scan output as a legal accessibility audit, a certified VPAT®, or an attorney's opinion without independent professional review
  • The subscriber complies with all applicable laws in the jurisdiction(s) where the scanned website is hosted or operated

AccessBridge makes no representation that scanning any particular website is permissible under the laws of every jurisdiction. Subscribers outside the United States should obtain independent legal advice before using batch scanning on third-party websites.

Purchases, Billing, and Refunds

Purchases

Paid products (such as the Claude Skill File fix guide) are one-time purchases at the prices listed on our Pricing page. There are no recurring charges or automatic renewals.

Payment

Purchases are processed by third-party payment providers (such as Gumroad). Prices are in US dollars and exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.

Refunds

Paid products come with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. We evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

Intellectual Property and Copyright

Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, user interface, text, graphics, logos, icons, AI models, algorithms, and all other content and materials, is owned by or licensed to AccessBridge and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

© 2026 AccessBridge. All rights reserved.

No portion of the Service may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, publicly displayed, encoded, translated, transmitted, or distributed in any way to any computer, server, website, or other medium for publication or distribution, or for any commercial enterprise, without AccessBridge's prior written consent.

Your content and licence grant

You retain all ownership rights in the URLs, website content, and data you submit to the Service ("Customer Content"). By using the Service, you grant AccessBridge a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access, process, and analyse your Customer Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not acquire any ownership interest in your Customer Content.

Scan output

Reports, violation data, AI-generated summaries, and VPAT® documents generated by the Service based on your Customer Content are owned by you, subject to these Terms. You may use, reproduce, and distribute scan outputs for your own internal and commercial purposes.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or feature requests to us, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use that feedback for any purpose, including incorporating it into the Service, without any obligation to compensate you.

Disclaimers and Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

AccessBridge EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING:

  • Fitness for legal purpose — We do not warrant that use of the Service will satisfy any legal obligation, render your website legally compliant, or protect you from any accessibility-related claim, lawsuit, regulatory action, or fine.
  • Accuracy and completeness — We do not warrant that scan results are complete, accurate, or free from false positives or false negatives. Automated tools are inherently limited and cannot replace human expert review.
  • Merchantability — We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Uninterrupted service — We do not warrant that the Service will be available continuously, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.
  • Third-party integrations — We are not responsible for the performance, availability, or accuracy of third-party services (GitHub, Jira, Slack, WAVE API, etc.) connected to the Service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

This section limits our financial liability to you. Please read carefully.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ACCESSBRIDGE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
  • Accessibility lawsuit, demand letter, regulatory action, fine, or penalty brought against you or your organisation — including any claim under the ADA, Section 508, the EAA, or any equivalent law — arising in connection with the accessibility of any website you scanned using the Service
  • Damages arising from your reliance on scan results, AI suggestions, or VPAT® documents as a substitute for legal advice or certified audit
  • Any damage caused by a third party's unauthorised access to your account or data

IN ALL CASES, ACCESSBRIDGE'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO ACCESSBRIDGE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

The limitations of liability in this section apply whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if AccessBridge has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AccessBridge and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and suppliers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  1. Your access to or use of the Service
  2. Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation
  3. Any accessibility claim, lawsuit, demand letter, government enforcement action, or regulatory inquiry arising from or related to the accessibility of any website you submitted for scanning using the Service, regardless of whether AccessBridge's scan identified or failed to identify the issues underlying that claim
  4. Your use of or reliance upon scan results, AI-generated suggestions, or VPAT® documents in any legal proceeding, regulatory submission, or public representation
  5. Any infringement of a third party's intellectual property rights by your Customer Content
  6. Your wilful misconduct or fraud

AccessBridge reserves the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which event you agree to cooperate fully with us in asserting any available defences.

Termination

Termination by you

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us to request account deletion. Your access to the Service ends upon account deletion.

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:

  • You materially breach these Terms and fail to cure within 10 days of notice
  • You engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
  • You fail to pay fees when due after reasonable notice
  • Continued operation of your account would expose AccessBridge to legal liability
  • We are required to do so by law or court order

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — will survive.

Following termination, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for export, after which it may be permanently deleted. AccessBridge is not liable for any data loss resulting from account termination.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Informal resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at legal@accessbridge.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most issues can be resolved quickly and amicably through direct communication.

Binding arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will take place in Tennessee, United States, or by video conference if both parties agree.

Class action waiver: You agree that all disputes will be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class, collective, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights or confidential information.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page
  • Send an email notification to registered account holders at least 30 days before material changes take effect
  • Display a notice inside the application on your next login

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with a material change, you may cancel your account before the change takes effect and, if applicable, request a prorated refund for the unused period.

Non-material changes (such as clarifications, grammar corrections, or updates that do not affect your rights) may be made without notice.

General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms applicable to specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and AccessBridge regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or any rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets without your consent.

Force majeure. Neither party is liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond their reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power outages, or internet service disruptions.

Contact. For legal notices or questions about these Terms, contact us at: legal@accessbridge.app.
